We just raised our Series E in the middle of Covid. Raising this round was so different from other rounds! Biggest differences/lessons we learned:

Downturn Suggestions for Startups 6 months after a fundraise. i.e. You raised for 18 mo and have roughly 10-14 mo left in the bank. (For Series A - C) /thread

Fundraising Tip: At the end of your pitch, ask the investor: "Oh, and what's your bite size?" Them: "$100K" You: "Hmm, can you do $50K? Trying to fit everyone in..." They will forget how shitty your product is and fight to get in the round.

Pro Tip to pre-seed founders: If you (want) to raise $500k, say you're raising $200k especially if you have $50-$100k committed. Then stay at the $100k-$150k committed till you raise $350k then say demand exceeded supply and say you've "revised" your raise target to $500k
